Route guide

Questions, answered

The essentials for planning, importing, sharing, and keeping track of your routes in ConvoPace.

Build your route

What is ConvoPace?

ConvoPace is a map-first web app for creating, discovering, and sharing running and cycling routes — without a social feed or training plans.

How can I create a route?

Open Create and choose the approach that fits your route:

  • Describe a route in plain language, including a start, distance, terrain, or places you want to pass.
  • Plan with waypoints and let ConvoPace connect them along suitable roads and paths.
  • Use fiets- or wandelknooppunten to build a route along numbered network segments.
  • Draw it yourself when you want control over every turn.

Before saving, review the route on the map, check its distance and elevation, add a name, and choose whether it is public, unlisted, or private.

Can I import GPX or Strava routes?

Yes. Choose Import GPX to upload a track from your device. ConvoPace plots the geometry on the map so you can review it, add route details, choose its visibility, and save it to My routes.

You can also connect Strava and import either saved Strava routes or completed run and ride activities that contain GPS data. Strava names are kept unless you rename them, previously imported routes are skipped during sync, and nothing is posted back to Strava.

Does ConvoPace support knooppunten networks?

Yes. Plan with numbered fiets- and wandelknooppunten across Belgium and the Netherlands. After completing a route, mark it done to add its matched network segments to your Home map.

Choose who sees it

Are my routes public?

You decide for every route. Public routes appear in Discover, unlisted routes are available to anyone with the share link, and private routes stay in your account.

Can I use a route on another device?

Export the route as a GPX file from its details, then open it in a compatible watch, bike computer, or navigation app.

Connections and data

What happens when I connect Strava?

ConvoPace asks only for the access needed to list and import your own routes and GPS activities into a private library. Imports are never shown in Discover. Disconnecting deletes stored credentials and Strava-imported routes. ConvoPace never posts to Strava and never sends Strava data to AI features.

Where is my route data stored?

Your account and route data are stored through Firebase. Read the privacy page for full details.
